  • The Childbirth Preparation, Baby Care, Breastfeeding and Infant Safety/CPR classes are currently being offered online. A Q&A with the childbirth education team is available via zoom as well every Thursday evening at 6:30pm.

  • We will be offering a limited number of in-person Infant/Child CPR with reduced capacity. Due to COVID-19, temperature screening and masks are required for all learners prior to entering the classroom. Please use the contact us button to discuss a zoom option for this classes.

Individual Class Descriptions



This three hour class focuses on basic care of the newborn. Topics include: bath demonstration, feeding and diapering tips, normal newborn characteristics, and well baby/sick baby information. In our self-paced eClass you’ll learn all about how to care for your newborn through instructive video clips, animations, and interactive games. You’ll also learn why bonding is so important for brain development and how reading your baby’s cues helps you understand what they need.

A certified lactation consultant conducts this one time 2-1/2 hour class. Discussion includes prenatal preparation, prevention and/or relief of common problems, how to successfully breastfeed while returning to work. In our self-paced eClass option you’ll learn all about breastfeeding through instructive video clips, animations, and interactive games.

Join us as we help you prepare for childbirth by covering the following topics: physical and emotional changes during pregnancy, nutrition, signs and symptoms of labor, stages of labor, breathing and relaxation techniques, medical interventions/medications and what to expect after delivery. A variety of formats are available to meet your scheduling needs: eClass, one-day express class, 2-day weekend class, or weekly series. In our self-paced eClass you will learn all about the birth process and medical procedures through instructive video clips, animations, and interactive games. You will also get a sense of what labor is really like as you watch several birth stories.

This is an ONLINE eClass that REPLACES the regular "Childbirth Preparation" Class for those having twins or more. This self-paced class includes information on general pregnancy related to multiples, labor and delivery options, post-partum and adjusting to life at home. Please "contact us" prior to registering for classes if you would like replace the regular Childbirth Preparation class with this Multiples class in a class bundle.

This in-person class will consist of 2-2 hour sessions (1 per week for 2 consecutive weeks) to help dads gain confidence and parenting skills prior to the arrival of their newborn. Topics include: The Pregnant Dad, Labor and Delivery: Partner in Birth and Parent Training Wheels, Baby Care: Going home and Getting Real, Bonding and Breastfeeding – Dads Matter!, The Postpartum Dad: He Says, She Says, Dads and Depression and the Joy of Fatherhood.

This class focuses on current maternity practice and updates grandparents-to-be on changes in infant care and safety guidelines. Virtual live class available.

This one time, three hour class is taught by CPR certified registered nurses. Basic CPR skills and choking prevention are taught. No certification is given. Class space is limited to ensure a low instructor/student ratio for a great learning experience.

Accidents are the leading cause of death in children. This class includes: Car Safety Safe Baby Care, Safety Products, Home Safety, Poisons, and Emergency Preparedness. This eClass helps you protect your little ones instructive video clips, infographics, stories, and interactive games.

This class builds on the concepts and coping techniques learned in the Childbirth Preparation (Understanding Childbirth) class for those parents planning to deliver with few (if any) medical interventions. Additional information on comfort relief measures including positioning, breathing, massage and alternative therapies (acupressure, visualization and mindfulness) will be covered.

This is a two (2) part series. It is necessary to attend both sessions to get all of the information. This comprehensive class, taught in Spanish, prepares you for labor and delivery, immediate newborn care and breastfeeding. Topics include: anatomy of labor, nutrition and exercise, signs and stages of labor, labor positions and comfort techniques, medical procedures and cesarean birth. Additional information will be given regarding breastfeeding basics, postpartum warning signs, newborn care and safety and safe sleep.

This online class can be completed at your own pace and usually takes 2-3 hours. This class will help parents prepare their child (children) for becoming a big brother/sister with fun activities and video clips. Topics include: We’re Having a Baby, Where do Babies Come From and What do They Eat?, Bringing Home Baby and How to be a Super Sibling.

We will make every effort to make weather-related decisions two hours prior to class time. If weather conditions in your area are too hazardous for you to travel, please call the KHN Childbirth Education Office at 937-395-8600 to reschedule.
