Mission Statement

The Soin Transitional Year Residency Program offers a broad-based, flexible post-graduate year in which residents can shape their initial medical careers building a strong base in clinical medicine and academics, with research opportunities. We aim to train skilled and empathetic residents who will take their initial experiences as a physician and continue to grow personally and professionally through the next stage of their postgraduate training.

Program Aims:

  1. To provide a solid foundation in general medicine in a supportive environment, while offering diverse elective rotations which will support adult learners in tailoring to their specific career goals.
  2. To train residents to work in teams to help them succeed in a multi-disciplinary, professional healthcare environment.
  3. To model and encourage consideration of an appropriate work life balance through by offering a robust wellness program.
