Emmanuel Chiebuka, MD

Dr. Chiebuka was born in a small town Abakaliki in Nigeria. After graduating from medical school, he practiced as a physician in Nigeria as a PCP before relocating to the United States for his Master's in healthcare administration. He headed several projects in underserved communities in Nigeria while serving as an advocacy director for several years. He advocated for health and reproductive rights for women in Nigeria, caring for the victims of illegal abortions. He also advocated for youth education and dangers of illicit drug use among the youth in his community. He was drawn to Soin Family Medicine during the AAFP conference in Kansas City, because the faculty showed genuine interest in his experiences. He knew Soin FM was the program for him right after his interview! All through the interview season he met with several residents, faculty and staff, and found that everyone was friendly, open and helpful in answering his questions. He loved the family feel of the program and knew he would be supported in reaching his goals, both personally and professionally. He described the beautiful hospital that he saw during his second look visit as a wellness element. He perceived the Soin FM program as truly an ideal program for him and he is excited to be a part of the family! Outside of medicine, He is enthused with soccer because it unites the communities, and he noted that he is a big fan of Arsenal Football Club in London. He also likes volleyball and swimming.
Marshall Eippert, DO

Dr. Eippert is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from Moeller High School and attended Wittenberg University for his pre-medicine studies, a true Ohioan! A lifelong athlete, Marshall found a passion for disc golf following his time playing college baseball. His love for primary care is rooted in admiration for his grandfather, who was a Family Medicine physician for over 40 years. Marshall hopes to merge his love for athletics and healthcare through a focus on sports medicine, serving athletes at all levels holistically. In particular, he loves to work with adaptive athletes and those in the sports community with limited access to primary care. Marshall's other hobbies include renovating his home with his wife Maddie (a Dayton Children's pediatrics resident), escape rooms, and spoiling his cats.
Geoffrey Evans, MD

Dr. Evans is a Dayton native who completed his undergraduate degree in English at Wright State University. He ultimately decided on a career in medicine and remained at the Wright State Boonshoft School of Medicine for medical school. Within Family Medicine, he is excited by the wide variety of practice opportunities available as well as the relationships one can develop with patients over time. Outside of medicine, Geoff can be found enjoying a good book or movie, playing drums and bass guitar, and spending time with family and friends.

Hannah Inman, MD

Dr. Inman is originally from Indianapolis, IN. She attended Indiana University for undergraduate and medical school. She also obtained a Master's in public health focusing on health policy and administration during that time. Her medical interests include women's health, public health, and health advocacy. In her spare time, she enjoys crocheting, baking, walking her two dogs, and traveling with her husband.
Shaunrick Stoll, MD

Dr. Stoll was born on the beautiful Caribbean Islands of Trinidad and Tobago. After earning his undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of the Southern Caribbean, he moved to southern California where he pursued a dual degree in Medicine and Pharmacology at Loma Linda University. There, he served in multiple student leadership capacities and engaged in numerous international service experiences. He is passionate about "Whole Person Care" and believes that social, mental, and spiritual wellbeing contribute to physical health. Shaunrick enjoys spending time with friends, cycling, and playing his steel drums. Be sure to ask him about his pet gecko.
Nancy Michelle Strickland, MD

Dr. Strickland is a lifelong Floridian who is excited to experience the Midwest. She studied engineering in college and worked as a mechanical engineer before finally completing her lifelong dream of attending medical school at the University of Florida. Her interests within family medicine include sports medicine, preventive care and lifestyle medicine. She spends her free time with her wife going to concerts, hiking and playing with their three dogs.

Dr. Le was born and raised in Utah. He received both his bachelor's and medical degrees at Brown University in Providence, RI. He completed his first year of residency at Wright State University's Emergency Medicine program. Due to a shift in values and life goals in the setting of numerous life events, he decided to pursue a transition to Family Medicine and was accepted at Soin Family Medicine residency program. Weiyi enjoys snowboarding, volleyball, rock climbing, and ultimate frisbee. He loves playing and composing piano music which he uploads to YouTube and Spotify (though he's generally too shy to share it with people). Above all, he values time spent with friends and family, especially throwing stuffed animals at his nieces/nephews and stealing their desserts.

Dr. Banda was born and raised in Lusaka, Zambia. He obtained his undergraduate studies at Vassar College in Upstate New York, and completed medical school at Loma Linda University in Southern California. He was drawn to Family Medicine by the comprehensive, longterm approach to patient care. Some of his medical interests include Lifestyle Medicine and Global Health, with a focus on health systems strengthening. Outside of the hospital, he enjoys reading, watching/playing soccer, running, cooking, and singing.
Minh Ho, DO

Minh Ho, D.O., was born in Vietnam and spent most of her life growing up in Dayton, OH. She attended the University of Dayton for college, majoring in Pre-medicine and minoring in Psychology. Minh worked as a medical assistant at a local family practice for a year before attending medical school at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. She was involved with student government and led multiple community service initiatives there. Minh is passionate about a holistic approach to medicine and is particularly interested in women's health, global health, lifestyle medicine, and osteopathic manipulation medicine. She enjoys riding her Onewheel, an electric skateboard, trying new recipes, and playing racket sports in her spare time. Her favorite quote is, "When there's a will, there's a way."
Jared Hoy, MD

Jared Hoy, M.D., comes from the close-knit community of Bellevue, OH. Raised amidst the cornfields and Friday night lights of Northwest Ohio, Jared developed a love for sports from a young age. He grew up playing football, wrestling, and baseball. Jared is a two-time Buckeye, attending The Ohio State University for undergraduate (B.S. in Health Sciences) and medical school. He has interest in fullspectrum family medicine with the objective of keeping a wide scope of practice. Outside of medicine, Jared enjoys staying active, whether it's hitting the gym, playing sports, or spending time with his wife and two dogs.

David Pohlman, DO

David Pohlman, D.O. grew up in Rochester, Michigan. He graduated from the University of Dayton in 2020 and obtained a degree in Biology. In 2024 he graduated from medical school at University of Pikeville. While in medical school he was the treasurer in the Wilderness Medicine Club, organizing trips and service projects in the local community. David is very excited about primary care and focusing on holistic approaches to treatment and the usage of OMT! In his free time David enjoys spending time with his soon to be wife Chrissy and their dog Milo. David also enjoys spending time hiking, cooking, and reading.

Maxwell Shafer, M.D., is a Dayton, Ohio native who grew up in Kettering and attended Centerville High School. After high school, he obtained a degree in pre-medicine with a minor in psychology from the University of Dayton. Throughout college he also worked as a teaching assistant, tutor, and medical assistant and was a performer at Dayton's Black Box Improv Theater. He then attended medical school at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine before beginning residency. He is passionate about serving those who otherwise would not have access to healthcare, and has worked in multiple free clinics as well as with the Indian Health Service. In his free time he enjoys running, hiking, travel, reading, performance art, movies, board games, and spending time with his friends and family.
David Skau, MD

David Skau, MD spent his childhood in Nigeria on the campus of a mission hospital. He earned a bachelors degree in International Rescue and Relief at Union College in Nebraska and a masters in Administration from Southern Adventist University in Tennessee. Before medical school he worked in a variety of global development and ministry roles including working as a youth pastor, managing a free clinic in Peru, teaching in Egypt, and coordinating disaster recovery and refugee programs in Houston, Texas. He is especially passionate about global health and whole person care - recognizing that patients' social, emotional, and spiritual health are major parts of their overall wellbeing. He enjoys hiking/backpacking, gardening and DIY projects, and being involved with his local church.

Natalie Smither, MD

Dr. Smither is originally from Lebanon, Ohio. She graduated from Miami University with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Pre-Medical Studies and her medical degree from St. George's University in Grenada. She is excited to explore many facets of family medicine throughout residency, especially Women's Health. She plans to continue practicing primary care close to home, in the Southwest Ohio area. Outside of the hospital, she likes to paddleboard, listen to Taylor Swift, and beat everyone in her family at foosball.
Anais Torres, MD

Dr. Torres Charvet was born in France and grew up in Ecuador. She went to med school in Argentina where she met her husband who was her classmate. She has worked as a missionary doctor in a refugee clinic in Beirut, Lebanon as well as in Palawan Philippines in a free clinic in the middle of the jungle. She has interest in global health, lifestyle medicine and women's health. She believes that mental, social and spiritual wellbeing play an important role in health. She's expecting her first baby! She enjoys cooking, nature, traveling and quality family time.

Elizabeth is a native of the area who attended Ohio University, where she earned a degree in Biochemistry, and went on to complete medical school at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is drawn to the breadth of family medicine and has a strong interest in reproductive health and lifestyle medicine. In her limited spare time, she enjoys working out, playing volleyball and basketball, knitting, reading, baking, running, and spending time with friends and family.

Dr. Black grew up on a small farm in Union, OH, along with his 7 siblings, about 30 minutes from Dayton. After completing his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering, he stayed at Wright State for his medical degree. Dr. Black chose family medicine because he loves the variety and the opportunity to care for patients in every stage of life. Within family medicine, Dr. Black has a special interest in lifestyle medicine, focusing on both prevention and treatment of chronic diseases. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors, often running or playing disc golf, reading, and spending time with his wife, Sarah, and their dog, Uno.

Fatima Zehra Boumahchad was born in Brooklyn, NY, and spent over the last decade in Dayton, Ohio, where she completed both her undergraduate and medical education at Wright State University. Throughout college and medical school, she was actively involved in a number of organizations, including the Global Health Initiative, peer mentoring for pre-medical students, and several efforts aimed at serving underserved communities—such as free clinics and local health fairs. She chose family medicine because of her passion for full-spectrum care, with particular interests in women's health, obstetrics, and office-based procedures. In her free time, Fatima enjoys spending time with her husband, reading, playing volleyball, and never turns down a good game night or movie night with friends and family.

Jordan Councell, MD

Jordan Councell, MD was born in Shreveport Louisiana and grew up there as well as in Florida, Nebraska, and California as part of an Air Force family. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry at Andrews University in Michigan. He then completed Medical School at Loma Linda University in California, spending the last two years at Kettering as part of their remote campus system. During that time, Jordan rotated with Soin Family Medicine, where he enjoyed getting to see the wide array of conditions that family medicine treats. In his spare time, Jordan enjoys spending time with his family and cat, Kylo, as well as playing video games, watching movies, and painting models!
Josef Faust, MD

Josef Faust, MD. is originally from Severn, Maryland and went to the University of Maryland Baltimore County for undergrad where he majored in Biology and minored in Spanish. He first came to Ohio to study at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine where he fell in love with Family Medicine and primary care. He enjoys spending time with family and friends and can often be found reading or playing board games. Pugs are his favorite type of dog, and if you ask him about his family pug Mr. Mopse, he'll talk your ear off.

John Hartman, MD MPH grew up in the People's Republic of China where his parents traveled to learn languages and work in health education. He graduated from Fountainview Academy in British Columbia before completing college at Weimar University in 2020. Between his third and fourth years at Loma Linda University School of Medicine, John traveled to the Republic of Chad for ten months to volunteer in the pharmacy and wound-care departments at Bere Adventist Hospital and learn French. During that year, John also started and completed his Master's in Public Health. He is passionate about acute care and extending health infrastructure in low-resource environments. In his free time, John enjoys reading, running, hiking, cooking, board games, learning languages, and spending time with his local church.

Mateo Leal, MD

Mateo was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia. After earning his medical degree from Universidad Militar Nueva Granada, he worked in different parts of Colombia for 8 years, gaining valuable experience caring for diverse communities. When he moved to the U.S., Mateo spent two years working as a medical assistant, which helped him get familiar with the healthcare system and improve his clinical skills. He's passionate about sports medicine and dedicated to helping underserved communities, especially Latino patients. As a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, he understands the challenges athletes face and enjoys combining that knowledge with his medical practice. When he's not working, he loves training martial arts, playing video and board games, and spending time with his wife and their three cats.
Elizabeth Serra-Hsu, MD

Dr. Serra-Hsu was born and raised in Davis, California. She completed her bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering at Colorado School of Mines where she also played NCAA volleyball. After a time of soul searching and playing professional volleyball, she completed her master's degree in exercise science and her MD at Trinity School of Medicine. Her interests within family medicine include sports medicine, lifestyle medicine, and preventative care. In her free time, she enjoys playing volleyball, hiking, spending time with her family, reading, and doing art projects.
